Napoli forward Jose Callejon has revealed that the Azzurri are hoping to finish the current Serie A season in second place.

The Partenopei, who currently sit in third place on the league table, will be looking to earn the three points in their away match against Livorno on Sunday as they try to catch up to second place Roma, and the 27-year-old is confident that his team can do just that.

Callejon spoke to Il Mattino on Friday about Napoli’s Serie A objectives this campaign, while also commenting on their progression in the Europa League, as they succeeded in eliminated Swansea City on Thursday and will be facing Porto next in the round of 16.

“The victory over Swansea was important,” said the former Real Madrid man. “Now we look forward to a great match against Porto.

“Do we want to win the competition? Yes, we’re working hard for it.

“Serie A? We have to earn the three points against Livorno. Our goal is to finish in second place and there are still many matches left.

“We want to play in the Champions League again next season.”
