Lazio midfielder Antonio Candreva has revealed that his team will be looking to earn a Europa League spot for next season after their 1-0 victory over Fiorentina on Sunday.

The 27-year-old is hoping the Biancocelesti, who were recently eliminated from the Europa League in the round of 32 by Bulgarian side Ludogorets, can now find continuity in these last few months of the Serie A campaign as they try to make their way back into European play next season.

“We played a great game in a difficult stadium,” the Italian international told Mediaset.

“We were looking to redeem our Europa League elimination and we succeeded in doing so.

“Our goal is to get back into the tournament next season, which means we have to give continuity in our performances as the final matches will be decisive of this.

“Marchetti found his form again? There was no finding it again, he’s a great goalkeeper and a great person.

“I’ve never had any doubts about his quality.”

Lazio currently sit in eighth place on the Serie A table, just seven points away from breaking into the top five.
