English and German clubs set to bid for AC Milan midfielder

AC Milan midfielder Riccardo Montolivo has reportedly attracted the interest of several big clubs in Europe.

Bayern Munich, Borussia Dortmund and Arsenal are just some of the clubs looking to make a bid for the Italian international.

MilanNews.it reports that the clubs have requested information on the player but as yet no negotiations have commenced.

The Italian, who owns a German passport, could be swayed towards a German side due to his mother’s German nationality.

The Milanese captain has not played domestic football outside of Italy originally signed for Milan on a free transfer from Fiorentina.

The Rossoneri are said to be hesitant about letting go of midfielder as he represents an important on-field and off-field role at the club.

The 29-year-old is a regular in the Italian squad and is almost guaranteed a place a the 2014 FIFA World Cup.

Montolivo has made 28 appearances this season, scoring 2 goals and getting 6 assists.
