Former Lazio coach Vladimir Petkovic has stated that he has suffered personally and professionally after being sacked by the Biancocelesti earlier this season.

The tactician was sacked by the capital club over the Christmas holiday shortly after it was revealed that he had signed on to take over the Swiss national football team starting in July.

Petkovic was dismissed after president Claudio Lotito felt that he had gone against the rules stipulated in his contract, which the former midfielder contested and as a result, the two sides are reportedly still embroiled in a legal case.

“I have truly suffered both as a professional and as a person,” he stated to Rai Due.

“But during this whole ordeal, I have always acted like a gentleman. And despite the bitterness I felt, I also received the support from many friends and colleagues who have encouraged me.

“So despite being mistreated like this I have chosen not to respond to the things they have said about me, rather opting to remain silent.”
