Genoa coach Gian Piero Gasperini called the Grifone’s performance “shocking” and announced “it was the worst match of my career” following their 3-0 loss to Hellas Verona.

Marco Donadel gave the home side the lead before two Luca Toni goals downed Gasperini’s side.

“It was nightmarish, hallucinatory,” Gasperini told Mediaset following the game.

“There were all the conditions in the second half to recover, but we’ve fielded a lot of mediocrity.

I’ll spend tomorrow trying to forget about this game but it will be tough. We should be glad they have never been in the relegation zone because today was a disaster.”

“I think the game was the worst of my career, especially in the second half, we will delete it as soon as possible.”
