Spain midfielder Andres Iniesta is confident Italy are one of the favourites to win the World Cup in summer, he told media following La Rojas 1-0 victory over the Azzurri on Wednesday night in Madrid.
Pedro’s goal secured a victory for the world champions and the Barcelona midfielder praised Cesare Prandelli’s side, as well as their international pedigree going into the summer tournament.
“Italy deserves great respect for its history and its players,” the 29-year-old told Sky Sports Italia.
“We have always found it difficult against Italy both in defence and in the attack.
“That’s why I think that Italy continue to be among the favorites for the World Cup. ”
