Inter drew with Udinese 0-0 at the San Siro on Thursday evening.

Udinese had the first opportunity of the match after a quiet first minutes; Danilo found Thomas Heurtaux outside the box but the full back’s effort flew high and wide.

After blocked attempts from Esteban Cambiasso and Hernanes, Heurtaux found space on the right side of the Inter area once again. However, once again, the defender’s strike was way off target.

Fredy Guarin attempted to celebrate his new contract extension with a goal from a direct free kick but his attempt shot over the crossbar.

Inter threatened again when Yuto Nagatomo initiated a counter-attack and fed Mauro Icardi but the Argentinian’s strike flew off target.

It was Inter and Andrea Ranocchia came close for the first chance of the second half with a cross-cum-shot that nearly gave the Nerazzurri the lead.

Udinese tested Samir Handanovic when Roberto Pereyra unleashed a low shot that Handanovic stretched to save.

Allan found Heurtaux once again in space but for the third time his effort was not on target.

Inter pushed forward more often in the second half, Hernanes nearly scoring with a direct effort from outside the box.

Rodrigo Palacio was found on the edge of the six yard box by Yuto Nagatomo but the forward’s effort was saved in the bottom corner by Simeone Scuffet.

Mauro Icardi found Hernanes in space and the Brazilian’s effort was once again saved by Scuffet in the top right corner.

Inter won another corner from the set piece following Hernanes’s shot and Walter Samuel rose above the Udinese defence to power a header wide from a Hernanes cross.

Nagatomo linked up with Palacio again but the pony-tailed striker’s header was too high to test Scuffet, while Jonathan powered down the right hand side and curled in a cross for Mauro Icardi’s header missed to the left.

Inter won a corner and nearly came out with a goal when Walter Samuel nodded to Icardi whose effort flew past the right hand post.
