Juventus assistant Angelo Alessio claims that despite a rocky period during their Europa League affair against Fiorentina, the Bianconeri performed well.

The Old Lady won 1-0 in the second leg against the Viola at the Artemio Franchi thanks to a delightful Andrea Pirlo free kick and the assistant believes the key turning point in the tie came during the first leg.

“[Fiorentina’s] goal from the first leg unlocked this game,” said Alessio to Mediaset.

“However, the team has done well from start to finish. Fiorentina is a very strong team that made things difficult for us, but we delivered on the field and in the second half we were the only ones on the pitch.

“Pirlo? I think he is the number one free-kick taker and I think he can beat the record of Sinisa Mihajlovic.”
