Hellas Verona coach Andrea Mandorlini criticized his side’s performance following their 1-0 loss to Cagliari on Wednesday night.
The visiting Verona lost after a Nene goal gave Cagliari a Serie A victory.
“We played too scared, too worried about the outcome,” Mandorlini told TGgialloblu.it.
“I’m sorry for how it went, but I’ve seen good things. During the second half I’ve seen better things and we tried to equalize, but we did not.
“We perform well only when we are behind, and this is not enough.”
Verona’s next match is against Genoa on the 30th of March at 15:00 CET. Mandorlini’s side currently sit 10th in Serie A.
