Hellas Verona coach Andrea Mandorlini raised his side’s performance following their 3-0 win over Geona on Sunday afternoon.

Marco Donadel gave the Gialloblu the lead before a double from Luca Toni late on secured the victory.

“He [Luca Toni] played a great game but in general all the team had a great game,” Mandorlini told Mediaset.

“We had to recover from four losses and the guys were good.  I must emphasize team spirit.”

With the victory Verona still have an opportunity to finish in the Europa League places but Mandorlini declined to entertain the idea.

“When we started talking about that area there we stuck. We had a great game.”

Luca Toni has been rumoured to be close to an Italy return ahead of the World Cup in the summer and the Verona coach highlighted the striker’s importance to his side.

“Beyond goals, everything he [Toni] has done during the race was important.”
