Catania coach Rolando Maran believes side were unlucky not to take all three points from their match against Cagliari on Saturday night.

The Rossazzurri played to a 1-1 draw against the Rossoblu at the Stadio Angelo Massimino with Matias Vecino giving the visitors the lead before Gonzalo Bergessio’s equalizer a few minutes later.

Speaking to Sky Sport Italia, Maran said that his side were very unlucky while also taking the time to praise some players.

“We were very unlucky tonight. Sometimes it is all about a matter of inches.

“I’m happy that Gonzalo [Bergessio] scored, he deserves the goal.

“We must be confident, if you look closely today we were just unlucky but we want to get out of the relegation zone.

“[Pablo] Barrientos did really well today, he gave his all.”

Maran also said that his side will give in their all in the remaining 11 games, while also praising Francesco Lodi.

“We must give our all in the final 11 games. It doesn’t matter if we’re playing at home or away.

“[Francesco] Lodi? He played really well tonight.”
