Napoli are willing to retry for Arsenal’s Thomas Vermaelen in summer, according to reports.
The Belgian has been third choice defender at the London club behind Per Mertesacker and Lauren Koscielny and with the captain’s contract expiring in 2015 Arsenal could look to cash in on the 28-year-old.
The Daily Mirror report that Napoli coach Rafa Benitez is still keen on the defender and is eager to add him to the Partenopei backline which he strengthened in summer with the addition of Raul Albiol.
TuttoNapoli report that Arsenal will offer a contract extension to the defender but if Vermaelen decides not to commit his future to the club then the Gunners will look to offload him.
