Porto midfielder Juan Quintero is happy with his side’s performance in Thursday night’s Europa League Round of 16 match against Napoli.
The Dragoes won 1-0 and take a slight advantage into next week’s return fixture in Napoli but the former Pescara man knows advancing to the quarterfinals will be difficult.
In a post-match interview with Sky Sport Italia Quintero stated, “We played very well and I’m happy with our performance. Napoli is a big club and we know the return leg will be an open match.”
The 21-year old Colombian rued his side’s inability to put up a second goal and place greater pressure on the Partenopei who are desperate to advance in the competition.
Quintero was a €5 million signing for Porto this summer after a year spent at Pescara and when asked to compare the experience between Italy and Portugal, the former Delfini player said, “It’s difficult to find space to play in a big club in Italy, here in Portugal it’s not the same.”
