Real Madrid are reportedly interested in signing AC Milan right-back Mattia De Sciglio after witnessing his rapid rise at San Siro.

The 21-year-old is currently above Ignazio Abate in the pecking order, and as well as making an impact in the Italian national team setup, he has become a favourite of Rossoneri coach Clarence Seedorf this term, putting in some excellent performances on the right side of defence.

According to calciomercato.it, Los Blancos have made tentative enquiries in the past few months to find out if a transfer can be completed, with boss Carlo Ancelotti keen to add his former club’s youth product to the defensive ranks in Madrid.

There are also some English clubs, including Manchester United, on the player’s trail, and it’s thought that if an important offer is made, Diavolo sporting director Adriano Galliani could seriously consider the sale of one of the club’s brightest prospects.

Despite enduring an injury troubled season thus far, De Sciglio has made 12 appearances in Serie A for his boyhood side.
