Lazio coach Edy Reja has revealed his happiness with the performance of both Federico Marchetti and his Lazio side in their 1-0 defeat of Fiorentina.

His Biancocelesti side scored early in Florence and held on to claim all three points despite continuous pressure from La Viola.

“I’m glad that Marchetti was pelted a few days ago . A character like that, who is out of action for quite some time, was questioned and I am happy with him and for the team,”  Reja told Sky Sport Italia.

“We got a result today that we merited and we had chances to close out the game, even hitting the crossbar while they had a header which Marchetti saved.”

He was then asked on whether Brayan Perea is more effective than Miroslav Klose.

“He works as much as Klose,” he began.

“He does an amazing job and commits the two central defenders, then the whole back line.

“He [Klose] had already done 90 minutes this week at that intensity.”

Following the win, Lazio find themselves in eighth place in the Serie A table.
