Bayern Munich president and European Club Association chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge has revealed that Juventus’ exit from the Champions League by the hands of Galatasaray made him angry.

The Bianconeri played their final game of the group stage in Istanbul under terrible conditions and the 1-0 defeat saw them exit the competition.

“It made me sick to see Juventus go out like they did in Istanbul,” Rummenigge told La Gazzetta dello Sport.

“What happened there was just incredible. You can’t play in a situation like that. From what I heard, the game had to be played, but it was a stupid situation.

Rummenige also commented about AC Milan’s chances of progressing into the next round of the Champions League after they lost 1-0 to Atletico Madrid in the first leg of their last 16 tie.

“Milan eliminated? I am not so sure about that,” he said. “They can definitely reverse the situation.

“It’ll be tough, but they can do it.”
