Manchester United defender Nemanja Vidic has revealed that he’s sad to be leaving the English club at the end of the season, though he admits he’s looking forward to facing a new challenge with Inter.

The 32-year-old, who has been with the Red Devils since 2006, recently announced that he would be joining the Nerazzurri at the end of the current campaign, as his contract with the Premier League club will be expiring in June, and is excited to begin the next stage of his career in the Serie A.

Vidic spoke to MUTV about his long stint with Manchester United and insisted that he’s still focused on helping his team end the 2013-14 season on a better note.

“At the end of the season I’ll be closing an important part of my life and career, it’s sad,” said the United captain.

“I’ve started thinking about all of the things that happened to me here, in both good times and bad.

“I’ve taken part in so many great successes and I’ve worked with great people who have helped me in my growth as a player.

“Regarding the way things are currently going, this is life and we must move forward.

“I can’t wait for the new challenge at Inter, but I still have a lot to give here at United.

“We have other important games ahead of us, I want to be there and give everything to help the club overcome this difficult time.”
