Atalanta boss Stefano Colantuono has admitted that his team are not ready to play in Europe ahead of their match with Genoa.

The Orobici will be hosting the Grifone at the Stadio Azzurri d’Italia on Sunday and the tactician wants his squad to end their three-match losing streak and secure the three points at home to restore some confidence in the club.

Colantuono spoke during his pre-match press conference on Saturday about his hopes for Atalanta to turn their current bad luck around, while also commenting on the recent controversy surrounding striker Marko Livaja who recently exchanged some nasty remarks with La Dea supporters.

“We need to break this losing streak against Genoa,” said the 51-year-old.

“The latest results have shown that we are still not ready to fight for Europe. The two penalizations in previous championships have slowed down our growth a little.

“Livaja? He realised that he had done a foolish thing.”
