Former Inter coach Andrea Stramaccioni hinted that there were economical reasons behind the transfer of Philippe Coutinho.
The Brazilian starlet was sold to Liverpool in the January of 2013 for €10 million and the Nerazzurri have often been criticised for letting go of such a talented player.
“I would like to answer, because otherwise it looks like that we want to avoid that topic,” Stramaccioni told Fox Sports.
“The truth is that sometimes operations go beyond the technical value of a player and there are precise needs which need addressed.”
In almost one and a half season at Anfield, the 21-year-old attacker has made 43 appearances, scoring eight goals and providing 15 assists.
