Italy coach Cesare Prandelli has revealed that he reached out to Parma coach Roberto Donadoni before deciding on calling up Antonio Cassano.
Cassano has returned to the Italian national team on Monday to attend to the mini-camp after being excluded for two years from the Azzurri side.
“I asked for advice from Donadoni,” Prandelli told Libero in an interview.
“He stated that, besides during the Christmas period, the striker had very good consistency both in the performances and in his behaviour.”
At 31, Cassano is having one of the best seasons of his career and has scored 11 goals and provided six assists for the Ducali this season.
