Lazio striker Miroslav Klose is expected to end speculation about his future by signing a new deal.

The 35-year-old joined the Biancocelesti in 2011 on a three-year contract, scoring on his Serie A debut against AC Milan.

In recent months, with his contract running down, the Germany international has been linked with a move away from the Stadio Olimpico, including a failed loan bid from Arsenal in January.

It now appears Klose will sign for another year, although according to Il Messaggero, he has demanded that the team grows up, and he has also sought understanding from owner Claudio Lotito of what the club’s aims are for next season.

Klose, who was the Golden Boot winner at the 2006 World Cup, has scored seven goals in 22 Serie A appearances this season.
