Emeghara – Livorno

Livorno striker Innocent Emeghara was surprised by the gift he received in the build up to his 85th minute equaliser against Inter on Monday night.

The Switzerland international pounced on a sloppy back pass by Fredy Guarin, before holding off Walter Samuel and slotting home to earn the Amaranto a 2-2 draw.

The substitute was delighted to complete his side’s comeback from two goals down, and he says they must now take that momentum into their next match – against leaders Juventus.

“It was strange how Guarin played the ball back,” Emeghara told Rai Sport. “But we pressed well and forced the error.

“It was good to score such an important goal, and against Juventus we have to play the same way.”

Emeghara’s goal against the Nerazzurri was his fourth in 27 Serie A appearances this season.
