MestoMoreno Roggi, agent of Napoli defender Giandomenico Mesto, has revealed that his client is close to signing a renewal with the Azzurri.

The 31-year-old just recently returned to the Partenopei squad in March after being out with an injury since November, but his agent is confident that he will come back stronger than ever and continue the impressive run he was having under coach Rafa Benitez before he became injured.

Roggi spoke to Radio Marte about his client’s impending renewal with Napoli, while also praising the player’s ability to prove himself to Benitez and earn a spot in the starting line up.

“A new phase in his career is beginning,” said the agent.

“When returning after a serious injury happens, you realise which difficulties you had to face and if you put in passion, desire, dedication patience you can come back stronger than before.

“Giandomenico can’t wait to return to the field. This season he was able to find much space before getting hurt, despite the fact that Benitez didn’t know him, and had come to Napoli thanks to the previous coach.

“The Spaniard, however, is a technician and a master of international football, and Mesto was stronger than the prejudgements of him claimed and has been able to carve out a valuable space.

“Renewal? Soon we will put it all down in writing, for the satisfaction of all.”
