Montpellier owner Louis Nicollin has revealed that he’s still unsure if AC Milan forward M’Baye Niang will remain at the French club this summer.

The 19-year-old joined the Ligue 1 side on loan from the Rossoneri during this season’s January transfer window and has publicly admitted his hopes to permanently sign with them at the end of the season, though the team’s owner feels the youngster may be a bit too expensive.

Nicollin spoke to Midi Libre about Niang’s future at the club and revealed that coach Rolland Courbis may want to keep him at Montpellier.

“[Benjamin] Stambouli will leave the club this summer, we have already decided this,” said the owner.

“As for Niang, we will have to see what happens with AC Milan because it would be too expensive to keep him, but if Rolland wants to keep him then we’ll see.”

Niang, who failed to score for the Diavolo in the Serie A before his departure, has scored three goals in his 13 league appearances for Montpellier since his arrival.
