Following Livorno’s 2-2 draw at home to Inter on Monday night, club captain Paulinho has said his side must perform consistently in order to pick up the points they need to avoid relegation.

In a swashbuckling game at the Stadio Armando Picchi, the Labronici showed their powers of resolve to fight back from a two goal deficit in the second-half thanks to goals from Paulinho and Innocent Emeghara, however the Brazilian knows a good 45-minutes in one match will not be enough to secure the Tuscan’s Serie A survival.

“Inter played well in the first-half, but after the interval we managed to earn a point thanks to our desire and work as a team.” the 28-year-old told Sky Sport Italia.

“Now we need to play this well every game and try to pick up points everywhere,” Paulinho added. “Now onto Juventus, they are a great team, but we must enjoy this result [against Inter] first.”

The Livorno number nine also admitted that he and his teammates will be supporting the Nerazzurri on Saturday night when they entertain relegation threatened Bologna at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza.

“Saturday we will be supporting Inter against Bologna, but first and foremost we will think about ourselves.”
