Roma have recently re-established contact with Newcastle’s Hatem Ben Arfa’s representatives about a possible move this summer.

Roma were previously interested in signing the Frenchman, and have renewed their interest as Ben Arfa has not hidden his desire to leave the English Premier League side.

Ben Arfa’s contract expires in 2015 and could arrive at Roma for less than his €12 million evaluation. Roma have made no secrets of their desire to add to their squad ahead of next season’s Champions League and Ben Arfa is a player coach Rudi Garcia is familiar with from both their times in Ligue 1.

Ben Arfa could be the man to replace Miralem Pjanic if the playmaker leaves Rome this summer. Pjanic has been linked with several moves away from the Italian capital and the Giallorossi will be hoping to replace him immediately.

This season the 27-year-old Ben Arfa has played 27 times for Newcastle tallying three goals and three assists.
