The woman at the centre of the feud between Mauro Icardi and Maxi Lopez – Wanda Nara – has deleted her personal Twitter account.

The feud began as the ex-wife of the Sampdoria forward entered an extremely public relationship with the young Inter star after Lopez reportedly took Icardi under his wing during their time together at Sampdoria last season, sharing a bond as two Argentine strikers playing at the same club.

The dispute has been a very public and distasteful one as the 21-year-old Inter forward took to Twitter to post several photos of himself with the children of Lopez and Nara, many of which included the children in Inter jerseys with Icardi’s number nine on the back.

Nara took to Twitter today to announce that she would be leaving Twitter, more than likely as an attempt to quieten the ongoing feud.

She wrote on her personal account: “I am preparing for the most important moment in my life, I only want to think about this and my children.”

The feud took another turn last weekend as the two players met on the field in what was labelled ‘The Wanda Derby.’

This was a game which Icardi and Inter came out victorious, as the young Argentine scored twice and saw Maxi Lopez have a penalty saved by Samir Handanovic.

The Inter forward stirred further controversy as he celebrated by holding his hands to his ear in a gesture towards the Sampdoria supporters.
