AC Milan captain Riccardo Montolivo thinks that the World Cup will be a shot at redemption for both Italy and himself.
The 29-year-old played 37 games for the Rossoneri in what was a poor season for the Milanese giants.
“I expect a magical tournament, Brazil is the homeland of football and there is probably no better place for a World Cup,” Montolivo told the magazine Forza Milan!
“Our wish is to make up for the bad 2010 World Cup in South Africa.
“Personally, I am pumped up, there is a lot of will to redeem myself after a negative year, I hope I will do well.”
The definitive list has not been submitted yet, but Montolivo has been a regular in Cesare Prandelli’s Italy and is expected to be in the Azzurri’s final 23 man squad.
