AC Milan goalkeeper renews contract until 2015

AC Milan goalkeeper Christian Abbiati has signed a new one year extension which will keep the shot stopper at the San Siro until 2015.

The Italian was set to be a free agent r as his current contract ended this summer, however the Milan Twitter account confirmed the veteran has now committed to a new deal.

“Christian Abbiati has extended his contract until June 30, 2015.”

There was speculation regarding Abbiati’s future as a first choice shot stopper for the Rossoneri, as the club were linked with a host of new keepers, such as Federico Marchetti of Lazio and Simone Scuffet from Udinese.

Abbiati was unsure of his future as he recently commented of his uncertainty but he will continue his relationship with the club that he joined back in 1998.
