New Barcelona coach Luis Enrique could be set to make a bid for Torino forward Ciro Immobile, as rumors of the Italy international’s future continue to circulate.

Immobile is one of Europe’s most sought players after an excellent season in which the 24-year-old finished Capocannoniere with 22 Serie A goals.

Mundo Deportivo reports that former Roma coach Enrique is looking for a striker to fill the hole left by David Villa who had a successful spell with the Catalans between 2010 and 2013 before moving to La Liga rivals Atletico Madrid last summer.

Barcelona are said to be studying the situation closely, however they face stiff competition with Immobile said to be close to joining German giants Borussia Dortmund.

Dortmund coach Jurgen Klopp has expressed interest in recent weeks in the forward with the club admitting they are desperate to sign the former Juventus player.

Immobile, who has been included in Italy’s provisional World Cup squad, joined Torino from Genoa last year.
