David Beckham said that facing Italy could be a positive thing for England.
He also discussed his national team in general.
“I think that they are a good team, Roy [Hodgson] made a really good job since when he started coaching England, it is a very tough task,” Beckham told Sky Sports.
“We are in a difficult group, but we can advance in this competition.
“We will face a big team like Italy that always does well in the World Cup, they have great players and history, but this might be positive for us because we always do well against the top teams.
“Heat and humidity will surely have an influence, but the only thing you can do is prepare at your best.”
