The Belgium Football Association have confirmed that their national side will be meeting the United States at the Stadio San Paolo in Naples as the World Cup finals kick-off in Brazil on June 12, although the match will be played behind closed doors.

The two sides also met just under a year ago in Cleveland when the Belgians secured a 4-2 victory over Jurgen Klinsmann’s side with a Christian Benteke brace and a goal each from Kevin Mirallas and Marouane Fellaini condemning the hosts.

“The game will be held behind closed doors, without any public and will be a sort of definitive test for the two selections,” a spokesman for the Belgian Football Association told Tuttomercatoweb.

Although the match is being held just as the tournament will be beginning in South America the United States do not begin their campaign until June 16 against Ghana, while the Belgians play Algeria the following day in Belo Horizonte.
