Borussia Dortmund close in on Immobile

The saga of Ciro Immobile to Borussia Dortmund edged closer to a conclusion on Tuesday as the German side agreed a contract with the striker.

Serie A’s leading goalscorer for the 2013-14 season has been hot property since he finished his campaign with Torino, which has prompted Dortmund to make their move.

France Football report that the 24-year-old has agreed on a four-year deal with the Bundesliga runners-up.

Immobile was awarded the Capocannoniere after scoring 22 league goals from 33 appearances, helping his Torino side to a seventh place finish, nine places above where they finished the season prior.

Jurgen Klopp’s side are believed to be willing to part with €22 million to secure the services of a player who looks set to feature in this summer’s World Cup in Brazil.
