Cagliari are reportedly set to be purchased by American buyers in the coming days.

With former owner Massimo Cellino purchasing English Championship side Leeds United, he’s looking to sell his shares in the Rossoblu after 22 years with the Sardinian club.

According to ANSA, the bid is for a fee of around €80 million though no other details are mentioned.

Cagliari lawyer Giuseppe Accardi received an e-mail proposal and will handle the Italian club’s side of the negotiations.

Luke Silvestrone is the representative of the American ownership group.

There are also plans to acquire the Stadio Sant’Elia and renovate it in time for either 2015 or 2017.
