Chiellini: Juventus deserved to go through

Juventus defender Giorgio Chiellini was disappointed after the tie that eliminated them from Europa League and said that they deserved to reach the final.

The Bianconeri exited the competition after a 0-0 result in the second-leg of the tie, meaning Benfica won 2-1 on aggregate.

“With all due respect to Benfica, we deserved to go through,” Chiellini told Mediaset.

“We are sorry, the result has gone against us.

“There a lot of regret at missing the final.

“We were punished by a few incidents during the game, but this will serve as experience.”
