Atalanta boss Stefano Colantuono is adamant that his team will be taking their match against Catania seriously on Sunday and will be looking to earn the three points.

The Orobici will be visiting the Elefanti in their last match of the 2013-14 campaign and the tactician is planning on using his strongest starting line up against the relegated home team, who have won their last two matches including an impressive 4-1 victory over Roma.

Colantuono spoke during his pre-match press conference on Saturday about his plans for the meeting with Catania, while also commenting on the criticism regarding the Serie A’s intensity and the disciplinary issues of Marko Livaja.

“I don’t plan on changing the starting line up for us tomorrow because this match matters a lot,” said the 51-year-old.

“We want to do well and honour the jersey by bringing home the three points. I could play [Marco] Sportiello, [Moussa] Kone and perhaps [Franco] Brienza.

“Catania have earned two great victories recently and despite their relegation they are in good health and have done very well. They also were able to score four goals against Roma.

“The Serie A is mediocre? If Catania earned 56 points last season and have been relegated this season, then that shows things have become more competitive especially in the bottom half of the table.

“Livaja? The rules must be respected, so the anarchy has annoyed me. If you say that he only played a few times, I’ll tell you that I’ve put him on the field 37 out of 48 times, and that doesn’t seem like a little amount to me.

“He has good qualities, but he must demonstrate them.”
