AC Milan’s Michael Essiens future could be in doubt at the club, after his agent failed to squash the rumours about his client’s future.

The Ghanian international joined the Rossoneri in the January transfer window, agreeing a deal that would see him at the club until June 2015

However the 31-year-old has shown little quality after his arrival, with president Silvio Berlusconi looking to offload the midfielder.

“Now is the World Cup and he is concentrated only on this,” agent Fabien Piveteau told Tuttomercatoweb.com

“His head is only on the World Cup in Brazil at the moment, he doesn’t want distractions, only focused on the World Cup.

“And the future? We’ll see with AC Milan after the World Cup, then we will see what to do and depending on the new coach.

“We then evaluate things with him, and what will be best for everyone.”

Essien only made seven appearances for the San Siro outfit, after moving from Chelsea in the winter break.
