Nicolas Burdisso has expressed his sympathy after the exclusion of Carlos Tevez from the Argentina squad for the upcoming World Cup.
The Genoa man was also not selected for Alejandro Sabella’s 30 man provisional squad and says the team will miss Tevez.
“I am friends with Carlitos [Tevez] but it’s not easy to be chosen when you have players such as Lionel Messi, Rodrigo Palacio, Ezequiel Lavezzi, Sergio Aguero and Gonzalo Higuain,” Burdisso told La Gazzetta dello Sport.
“I’m sorry for him, the team is different when he plays and it shows at Juventus”.
Tevez had a prolific campaign finishing third in the top goalscorers list in Serie A with 19 goals.
