The Gialloblu had twice come back from one goal deficits and scored the go ahead goal in the 83rd minute when Romulo put the Mastini ahead in a match which would have seen the winner level on points with sixth place Torino for the last Europa League spot.
“In whatever minute they occur, a penalty kick must be clear to be awarded,” Mandorlini said in a post-match interview with Sky Sport Italia.
“It is unfortunate because they did not deserve the draw.”
The referee awarded Lazio a stoppage-time penalty when Michelangelo Albertazzi saw red for a foul on Miroslav Klose who fell easily in the box and earned the Aquile a penalty in the match’s closing moments.
“We deserved to win the match but instead we wind up with a draw on a dubious penalty. Now we’ll have to see what happens these last two matches and try to do our part.”
