Juventus striker Fernando Llorente believes that coach Antonio Conte is very important to the Old Lady and wants him to remain in Turin beyond the summer.

The tactician has been linked with a possible move away from the Bianconeri this summer, with Manchester United reportedly seen as his most likely destination, though the 29-year-old hopes that the Juve boss decides to continue leading the Serie A champions next season.

Llorente spoke to Sky Sport Italia about Conte’s worth to Juventus, while also commenting on his own debut season with the Italian side and the upcoming World Cup.

“The turning point of my season? The beginning was not easy, but the coach had been waiting for the right time for me to play,” said the Spanish international.

“Scoring a goal in my first home game with Juve was something special for me.

“My goal against Udinese earlier in the season? It was very important, without that we wouldn’t have reached 102 points.

“Barcelona? It’s not easy to win every year, we now hope for a great World Cup. I’m very sorry for the injury of [Diego] Costa.

“I hope to make it to the World Cup, it’s a dream for me.

“Conte? I hope he stays at Juventus, he is too important for us.”
