Juan Camilo Zuniga NapoliDespite an injury ravaged campaign at Napoli wing-back Juan Camilo Zuniga remains hopeful that he will take part at this summers’ World Cup finals in Brazil, or at least be included in Colombia coach Jose Pekerman’s final squad of 23.

The 28-year-old Colombian missed the majority of the Serie A season with a persistent knee complaint that began troubling him in October 2013 and made just six league appearances for the club.

“The important thing was to get back fit and make a good recovery,” Zuniga told Tuttomercatoweb.

“I’ve always had confidence about my participation in the World Cup finals.

“My knee is responding well and with God’s help I will be in the final 23.”

After initial arriving from South America at Siena Zuniga moved to Naples a year later in 2009 and became a fundamental part of the side under former coach Walter Mazzarri and with his injury problems hopefully behind him should prove equally important for Rafael Benitez next term.
