Paolo RossiFormer Italy hero Paolo Rossi has admitted that his best memories from his career are from the World Cup while stating that the Azzurri can reach the semi-finals in Brazil.

Rossi revealed his joy at watching any World Cup and that he hopes that recent unrest in Brazil will not affect the tournament.

“The World Cup is linked to my best personal moments,” admitted Rossi to Sky Sport Italia.

“Personally I can not imagine any other shirt apart from the Azzurri shirt, the one I had all my satisfaction from in Argentina 1978 and Spain 1982.

“Whenever the World Cup occurs, it is always something that inspires great emotions in me and it is happening once again.”

He then discussed what kind of atmosphere should be expected in Brazil.

“In Brazil, every minute of football is lived in an incredible way.

“Brazil is the country of football excellence. As it is often said; the English invented it, the Brazilians perfected it.

“There will be a beautiful atmosphere. There are the social problems but I hope that they do not affect the football.

“Italy are always strong and compete without fear against anyone.

“Winning is always complicated, but I think the guys can reach the semi-finals.”
