Cagliari coach Ivo Pulga thinks that Victor Ibarbo has the potential to play in a top team after a great season with the Isolani.

The 23-year-old Colombian has scored four goals and provided three assists in 28 Serie A matches this season and has been linked with a move away from the Rossoblu.

“He has great potential, he is young and can play in many roles,” Pulga told Sky Sport Italia after Cagliari’s recent 3-0 defeat to Napoli.

“He has a bright future, if he is not ready yet he is very close to being. If not next year, maybe the next one, though Cagliari is also a big team.”

The tactician also commented on the Sardinian side’s heavy defeat to the Partenopei.

“There is little to say when you lose 3-0. We are at the end of the season and we are starting to run out of energy.

“We played with two wide attackers to limit Napoli. We did it well until the penalty, then we lost our way. The game ended with the 3-0 goal.

“We missed some scrappiness but it is normal as we faced a higher caliber team.”
