Roma midfielder Rodrigo Taddei has stated that he hopes he can extend his stay at the club after a fine end to the campaign.

The 34 year old Brazilian was given a chance back into the side after Kevin Strootman’s unfortunate long term injury in February, and the Brazilian has not looked back since.

With his contract expiring at the end of the season, the fan favourite hopes he has done enough to secure at least another season in the capital.

“[My future at the club] I do not know, it does not depend on me,” Taddei clarified to Sportsmediaset after the Partita Mundial charity match.

“I gave my availability to stay, now we’ll wait for the club and see. Hopefully it works out for me, everyone knows my desire is to stay but we have to see what the club thinks.

“A meeting soon? The agents will do everything. I’ll go to the field and try to do my best.”

Taddei ended up making 19 appearances for Roma in the Serie A this past season.
