Torino coach Giampiero Ventura claimed Juventus’ Scudetto victory as one for the entire city after his Torino side defeated Chievo at the Stadio Bentegodi on Sunday.
Torino were victorious after a Gennaro Sardo own goal and a Sergio Pellisier red card allowed the Granata to walk away from the Bentegodi with all three points.
Speaking with Sky Sport Italiav, Ventura heaped praise on Torino’s eternal rivals Juventus after Roma’s loss to Catania sealed a historic Scudetto for the Bianconeri.
“Juve deserved it [the Scudetto] after dominating from start to finish. I think this success is a victory for the city of Torino.
“Today was an important day for Torino [FC] and the city of Torino.”
Ventura’s side currently sit in the final Europa League qualification place with only two matches remaining in the Serie A season. They will play Parma in a crucial tie next weekend.
