AC Milan have officially confirmed that Clarence Seedorf has left his post as coach with Pippo Inzaghi installed as his replacement.

The Dutchman only took over in January from Massimilano Allegri, but couldn’t guide the Rossoneri to European football next season, while a rift with vice-president Adriano Galliano is said to have also contributed to his dismissal.

A statement on the club’s official website read:

“AC Milan communicates that Clarence Seedorf has been dismissed. Filippo Inzaghi has been appointed as first team coach, and is under contract until June 30th, 2016. “

Inzaghi was in charge of Milan’s Primavera side which won the prestigious Viareggio Tournament earlier this year.
