Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain has made huge strides toward match fitness when he rejoined his England team mates for training.

The 20 year-old suffered ligament damage during his countries’ friendly with Ecuador and missed the first match of the 2014 World Cup.

However despite their disappointing 2-1 defeat to Italy the Three Lions have been boosted by the Arsenal midfielders return to training.

Further good news came in the form of Daniel Sturridge and Steven Gerrard who both seem to have recovered from recent knocks.

Roy Hodgson will be pleased to have Oxlade-Chamberlain back as he showed excellent promise in their warm-up matches.

It remains to be seen whether the former Southampton prodigy will be ready for England’s crucial tie with Uruguay.
