Arsenal coach Arsene Wenger could be ready to make a recording breaking bid for Juventus midfielder Arturo Vidal.
Il Guerriero made 32 appearances in Serie A this past season and scored 11 goals for the Bianconeri.
According to reports in the Daily Star, Arsenal are readying a €55 million offer to Juventus to acquire Vidal which would break the Gunners’ transfer record, currently held by Mesut Ozil who cost around €53m.
“Vidal is one of the best midfielders in the world,” Wenger told the Metro, which further increased speculation.
“He has everything. Incredible stamina, perfect timing.
“He’s a marathon athlete who plays football.”
The Chilean was plaugued by injury during the World Cup, and even underwent knee surgery a couple of weeks prior to it starting, but still made three appearances as Chile exited in the Round of 16.
