Gianluigi Buffon ItalyItaly goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon believes Uruguay are to be feared when the two teams face each other on Tuesday at the Estadio Da Dunas in Natal, Brazil.

The Azzurri veteran has no doubts that the two sides will be influenced by their latest results, but the veteran believes that their match was always going to prove key in the battle for Group D supremacy.

“They are a team to be feared and the reverberation of the last few games will have an important role,” Buffon said at a press conference.

“We come from a fall, they came back with a victory against England. It is like a round of 16 match, with the lead instead of two results out of three at our disposal.”

Buffon missed Italy’s 2-1 win against England but he returned for the match against Costa Rica and he was surprised with the rapidness of his recovery time.

“It was a major psychological blow for me because not even in my wildest dreams would I have thought I would recover so quickly. This put me in a good mood, and we wanted it,” Buffon concluded.
