Chelsea’ striker Fernando Torres has put all speculation concerning his future to bed by stating he will stay in London next season despite interest from Inter.

These claims come at a time when the Premier League giants are closing in on a deal for Diego Costa of Atletico Madrid.  However, surprisingly enough, Torres has welcomed the competition, if any, does arrive at the Bridge next season.

“I wish he could have joined us a couple of years earlier,” Torres told Spanish radio station Onda Cero.

” He always looks to find that final key pass, he’s the type of player Chelsea don’t have.”

This particularly comes as a blow for the Nerazzurri, who have been monitoring the 30-year-old’s situation for quite some time now.

Despite being with the Spanish national team for the World Cup in Brazil, the former Atletico striker experienced yet another disappointed season scoring just five goals in 28 league appearances.

As a consequence, rumours regarding his departure have intensified and the Nerazzurri were apparently the front runners to land his signature.
